Here come the Simones.
Swimmer Simone Manuel and gymnast Simone Biles joined forces on Friday for an incredible selfie a day after each won an Olympic gold medal in their respective sports.
Biles, on the right, tweeted the celebratory image on Friday, and it got a lot of attention on social media.
First lady Michelle Obama tweeted a response that best sums up what we’re all thinking:
Biles, 19, won two gold medals at the Rio games. She came in first in the women’s individual all-around gymnastics event Thursday after being part of the American team that beat the Russians for gold on Tuesday.
Twenty-year-old Manuel melted hearts on Thursday with her emotional reaction to winning a gold medal in the women’s 100-meter freestyle swimming event. She tied for first with Penny Oleksiak of Canada, and became the first African-American woman to medal in an individual swimming event. Manuel also won silver on the 100-meter freestyle relay team.
