WHAT'S HAPPENING
Being invited by your friends to different events, whether it's a birthday party, a New Year's party, or a party just for fun, is always nice. You feel like you're a part of something and that feels good. This is why not being invited somewhere can sometimes hurt.
When your partner consistently avoids sex and intimacy, or on the rare occasion when they are willing, are obviously doing so reluctantly -- the accumulations of repeated rejections are likely to have a big impact on your self-esteem.
Acquiring new habits isn't easy. But isn't it time we gave our emotional health the same tender loving care we typically afford our physical bodies?
Fear of rejection is a big issue for many people -- and it used to be for me, too. I used to be so worried about how others felt about me that I was often anxious in my interactions with them -- always trying to say and do the "right" thing so they would like me or at least think well of me.
