The co-leader of New Zealand's Mori Party was unsurprised about Meghan Markle's revelation.
"Thank you, kia ora," the "Jojo Rabbit" director said, dedicating his award to Indigenous children around the world.
"You dont get to culturally misappropriate it for profit," said an angry member of the Maori Council in a video message.
