WHAT'S HAPPENING
"We need to be impartial," GOP Sen. Scott Baldwin told a history teacher who noted his class was studying the rise of Nazism and fascism.
The right-wing Republican wants to allow parents to sue school districts over teaching CRT and recoup legal fees.
Besides all the usual rhetoric, the looming state takeover of the Houston Independent School District is a major flashpoint in Saturday's runoff contests.
The Republican also complained that white defendants charged in the Capitol riot are being discriminated against because of the color of their skin.
