The billionaire philanthropist addressed a rumor started by News Corp co-chairman Rupert Murdoch.
The media mogul tweeted earlier that philanthropist Eli Broad was in the running to buy the newspaper group.
The co-chairman of News Corp. said he had strong word the company was being sold to a group of Wall Street investors.

He didn't say how, exactly, refugees should prove it.
Carson said Murdoch was "just expressing his opinion" on Twitter.
