Professional screenwriter, actor, former U.S. Senate aide and former elected Member of the Writers Guild of America, West Board of Directors

Michael Russnow has written for The Waltons, Streets of San Francisco and Little House On the Prairie before moving into comedy and Barney Miller. He was also story editor on Diff'rent Strokes, interspersed with episodes for Family Ties, Dynasty, Knots Landing, Santa Barbara and many other shows. He was twice elected to the Board of Directors of the Writers Guild of America, West. He wrote the recently published Hollywood on the Danube (on Amazon) based on his 1998 stint in Budapest setting up a soap. A longtime contributor to "The Huffington Post," in 2011 he decided to pursue his long-desired acting dream in addition to writing and joined AFTRA. After the merger he became a member of SAG-AFTRA.His short film, Speedwriting, which he wrote, directed and co-produced and in which he has one of the lead roles, has been selected by many festivals, including the Orlando Film Festival and has won awards in London and Canada.
