A New Jersey native, Michael Luongo is a journalist, photographer and educator who lives in New York City and Indiana. He is the author of several travel books, and a novel, "The Voyeur." His work has appeared in The New York Times, Bloomberg News, Gay City News, and many other publications. He teaches Personal Essay for UCLA Extensions online writing program and is a PhD student at Purdue University where he researches tourism in the context of conflict.
