Dana Ellis Hunnes, PhD, MPH, RD is a sought-out expert, providing easily understood information to public audiences on the role that our dietary choices play in sustainability, climate change and personal health.Danas research delves into the complex relationships among our food choices, climate change and food security -- and how they affect the health of our oceans, planet and populations.More recently, Dana has started to combine her scholarly research on climate change with issues of animal welfare, wildlife, and conservation of endangered species and marine wildlife.Dana advocates for sound nutritional, dietary, and climate-related policy, and writes frequently for the Huffington Post on these issues. Dana has also been quoted by the AP, Huffington Post, and Los Angeles Times. Dana also advises individuals and chairs the UCLA Medical Center Wellness Committee on sustainable practices.Every now and then, Dana teaches a course as an adjunct assistant professor in the UCLA-Fielding School of Public Health. Dana is available to field inquiries related to sustainable food choices, conservation, climate change and food security.Dana earned her B.S. in Nutrition and Human Biology, Health, and Society from Cornell University, her Masters in Public Health and Ph.D. in Public Health (climate change and nutrition security) from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Dana lives in Los Angeles with her husband, son and chocolate lab. She is an avid cycler and swimmer.
