A manhunt remains underway in Southeast Washington, D.C., after two people were shot dead and three others wounded in a neighborhood shooting Wednesday.

Police were called to a Congress Heights neighborhood at 1:21 p.m. and found four of the victims in a housing complexs parking lot. The fifth gunshot victim went to a local hospital with minor injuries, authorities said.

We do not think theres an ongoing threat to the public, Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Contee said at a press conference.

Authorities did not immediately announce any suspects or arrests in the case. The shooting is believed to have broken out following a dispute, police said, although it was not clear what the nature of the dispute was, or who was involved.

The victims, three males and two females, are all believed to be adults. The fatalities have only been identified as a man and a woman.

It wasnt immediately clear if there was more than one shooter or what kind of firearm was used, Contee said.

We have a gun violence problem, he said, encouraging members of the public to come forward with whatever information they have.

A $25,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest .
