3 stabbed Tuesday during attempted robbery on 20th Street near St. Mary's church: Saskatoon police

Saskatoon police say three people were injured early Tuesday in a robbery gone wrong.

Saskatoon police say three people are recovering from knife wounds after a botched early morning attempted robbery.

It happened around 6:15a.m. CST Tuesday on 20th Street near St. Mary's church, according to a police news release.

Police saya female approached a woman and man who were walking in the area.

"A robbery was attempted and a physical assault ensued. All three suffered non life-threatening injuries," the release said.

Police taped off the south end of Avenue O, where it joins 20th Street, after the altercation.

Firefighters were called to wash away a blood pool on the street.
